– On days when certain attractions, sights, monuments, museums, etc. are closed, the Tour Manager OR Local English speaking guide reserves the right to amend the Itinerary / cancel the visit.

– For convenience of our passengers, we will sometimes amend the itinerary. However the inclusions will remain unchanged.

IMPORTANT NOTES

The Group Tour Leader and the passengers of the group should respect and obey with EU driving rules and should not push the driver to go over legal hours or over EU rules.

The daily use of the bus cannot exceed 12 hours.

9 hours in a day – this can be extended to 10 hours twice a week 56 hours in a week. 90 hours in any 2 consecutive weeks

All driving you do under EU rules must be recorded on a tachograph.

Breaks and rest (The main points of EU rules on breaks and rest are that driver must take) at least 11 hours rest every day – you can reduce this to 9 hours rest 3 times between any 2 weekly rest periods an unbroken rest period of 45 hours every week – you can reduce this to 24 hours every other week a break or breaks totaling at least 45 minutes after no more than 4 hours 30 minutes driving your weekly rest after 6 consecutive 24-hour periods of working, starting from the end of the last weekly rest period taken. Coach drivers on an international trip can take their weekly rest after 12 consecutive 24-hour periods, starting from the end of the last weekly rest period taken.

Day 01: Heraklion

Arrive at Heraklion international airport in Greece. Upon arrival you will be met by our representative who will guide you to the coach. Later we proceed to our hotel in Heraklion. In the evening, proceed towards an indian restaurant for dinner. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 02: Heraklion – full day tour on the foot steps of apostle Paul

Journey in the apostle Paul’s footsteps in Greece with our highly specialized guide to connecting with orthodox christianity in Crete. Make a stop at an altitude of 400m to discover the storied village of agios Myronas and his ascetic holy cave where healing water still gushes from within the rock. Let us guide your tour along the ancient Messara valley to see through the eyes of a local and realize both the spiritual and unspoiled side of the island. Visit Paliani one of the oldest cretan monasteries dedicated to the assumption and famous for its sacred myrtle tree a relic of the minoan Crete dendrolatry. Following the roads that go deeper, luxuriate in the ages unearthing prehistoric cities seemingly around every corner along with the bronze age Festos palace. At the island’s southern corners, take a local tour to uncover the jewel of monastic Crete: Odigitria monastery (Agiofarango) with its fortified architecture that echoes an extraordinary cultural legacy. By the end of the day, unwind at Matala beach the prehistoric port of Gortyna with iconic caves from the neolithic age, and indulge in scrumptious seafood dishes. Return to Heraklion.

Day 03: Fly to biblical Cyprus

Today we are leaving Greece for a taste of biblical Cyprus. According to the bible, in acts 13:4-12, Paul and his companion Barnabas arrived in Cyprus during their first missionary journey. Their visit to the island marked a pivotal moment in the spread of christianity. Upon arrival in Cyprus continue to your hotel in Larnaka. Afternoon free. Time permitting you can visit saint Lazarus church. As the hotel is in Larnaca, you may easily visit the church of St Lazarus on foot as very close by. Visit the magnificent church of St Lazarus, built by emperor Leo Vl, in the 9th century. Restoration was carried out in the 17th century and is one of the finest examples of byzantine architecture. Lazarus of Bethany whom Jesus Christ resurrected four days after his death came by boat to Cyprus and landed in Kition where he met the apostles Paul and Barnabas. He lived on the island for another thirty years. He was buried under the sanctuary in a hidden tomb. Walk along the Finikoudes promenade the famous palm tree lined seafront with the medieval castle standing in the water’s edge. Overnight stay at the hotel.

Day 04: Full day tour of biblical Paphos

This morning we begin our biblical journey in Cyprus. First stop the St. Lazarus church, an important orthodox christian pilgrimage site dedicated to the biblical figure Lazarus, whom Jesus raised from the dead. The church houses an exquisite iconostasis and a beautiful example of byzantine architecture. Travel to Paphos, a city closely associated with the apostle Paul’s missionary journeys. In acts 13:6-12, Paul and Barnabas encountered the roman proconsul Sergius Paulus in Paphos, marking the conversion of Cyprus’s first notable christian. Visit St. Paul’s pillar, believed to be the location where st. Paul was flogged before the proconsul’s conversion. This site serves as a reminder of the early christian history of Cyprus. Enjoy the stunning view of the legendary Aphrodite’s rock, where according to greek mythology, the goddess Aphrodite emerged from the sea. This natural wonder adds a mythological dimension to your tour. End with a visit Agia Solomoni catacomb, an early christian burial site with frescoes and an atmosphere steeped in history and spirituality. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.

Day 05: Excursion to biblical Salamis

This morning you tour the biblical port of Salamis, its mention in acts 13:4-5 as the starting point of Paul and Barnabas’ first missionary journey. Visit the St. Barnabas monastery, dedicated to St. Barnabas, one of the key figures in early christianity. Explore the impressive church, the archaeological museum, and the final resting place of St. Barnabas, Cyprus’s patron saint. Step back in time as you explore the vast salamis archaeological site, featuring well-preserved remnants of the city, including roman baths, a theater, and a gymnasium. Walk along the ancient harbor of salamis, where vessels of old once docked, and where Paul and Barnabas may have arrived during their journey. Visit the roman theater of salamis, where cultural and religious events were held in antiquity. Reflect on the historical context of early christian gatherings in this setting. Return back to Limassol for dinner and overnight.

Day 06: Fly to Malta

This morning we leave Cyprus and continue our biblical journey to Malta. According to acts 27-28, Paul, while being transported to Rome as a prisoner, was shipwrecked on the island of Malta. Despite the challenges, he and his fellow passengers were welcomed and cared for by the hospitable maltese people. Upon arrival in Valetta, meet your guide and driver, continue to your hotel. Afternoon free. Dinner and overnight at your hotel.

Day 07: St. Paul bay & Rabbat

This morning, visit St. Paul’s bay, traditionally believed to be the site where St. Paul was shipwrecked on Malta during his journey to Rome (acts 27:27-28). Explore St. Paul’s island and the statue of St. Paul commemorating the shipwreck. In the afternoon continue to Rabbat home to St. Paul’s grotto, where it’s believed St. Paul sought refuge during his stay in Malta. Back to Valetta for dinner and overnight.

Day 08: Mdina & St Paul catacombs

This morning travel to Mdina, Malta’s ancient walled city, with its rich history. Explore St. Paul’s catacombs in rabat, a site of early christian burial and worship. Visit St. John’s co-cathedral, known for its artistic treasures and the tomb of the grand master of the knights of St. John. Explore the grand master’s palace, reflecting on Malta’s christian history and its connection to the knights hospitaller. Return to Valletta for dinner and overnight.

Day 09: End of trip
