Itinerary

Day 1Arrival at Belgrade and transfer to hotel

Arrival at Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. Belgrade is a vibrant metropolis nestled at the confluence of the Danube and Sava rivers. With a rich history spanning over millennia, Belgrade carries the marks of various civilizations that have left their imprint on its culture, architecture, and spirit.
Walking through the streets of Belgrade, one encounters a fascinating blend of ancient fortresses, Ottoman heritage, and classic Austro-Hungarian architecture, each telling a story of its own. Transfer to hotel.

Day 2Belgrade city tour

After breakfast, we will begin our journey by stepping into the past as we explore the legendary Belgrade Fortress, a historic site that has stood for over two millennia. Wander through Kalemegdan Park, where nature and history intertwine, and take in the stunning views from the Victor Monument, positioned high above the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers, offering one of the city’s most spectacular panoramas.
We will cross the river into Zemun, a charming district with a distinctly European atmosphere. Stroll along its cobblestone streets, admire its baroque architecture, and embrace the lively ambiance of the Danube Promenade. Take a moment to relax at a local café or restaurant and savor the fusion of Mediterranean and Central European flavors that define this picturesque riverside area.
Explore Belgrade’s contrasts, starting with New Belgrade, shaped by the socialist era, with landmarks like the Palace of Serbia and Ada Bridge.
Next, we arrive at the iconic Saint Sava Temple, a stunning symbol of Belgrade with its white and gold exterior that shines brightly in the sunlight. A dominant feature in the Belgrade skyline, the temple reflects the deep Christian Orthodox faith of the Serbian people.
We continue with a scenic drive through some of the city’s most renowned streets, including Nemanjina Street, the Stefan Nemanja Monument, and Karađorđeva Street.
In the afternoon free time for leisure. We suggest you to take an OPTIONAL cruise at the Danube river.

Day 3Free day or OPTIONAL Full-Day Tour to Novi Sad & Sremski Karlovci

After breakfast, free day to explore Belgrade on your own or OPTIONAL Full-Day Tour to Novi Sad & Sremski Karlovci . Head toward the northern Serbian province of Vojvodina. For an hour, you will enjoy the colorful landscapes of the Pannonian Plain while hearing stories about the area’s turbulent history. Reaching the Fruska Gora region, you will find over 16 medieval Orthodox monasteries nested in this region. Explore one on the way toward Sremski Karlovci, a quiet little Baroque town with small houses, churches, palaces, gardens, and an impressive history. Visit the Chapel of Peace, where a peace treaty was signed. Visit the main square, the Four Lion Fountain, the Karlovci Gymnasium, the town hall, the Roman Catholic Church, the Serbian Orthodox Church of St. Nicholas, and more.

You will be able to taste a famous “Bermet”, a Serbian wine that even made it to Titanic. Your next stop will be the Petrovaradin Fortress, one of the largest strongholds in Europe, which is still preserved. Built by the Austrian Empire in the 17th and 18th centuries, this fortress played a significant role in defending the middle European countries from Ottoman attacks. You will be able to walk through the fortress, pass through some of its gates, and see some of the interesting places from the top, like the City Museum, the old military barracks, and the clock tower. Enjoy the view over the Danube and the city of Novi Sad. As the second largest city in Serbia, with its typical Central European appearance and proud history of being a cultural and intellectual center in the Austro-Hungarian Empire which, it earned the nickname ‘Serbian Athens.’

See the Museum of Vojvodina and Dunavski Park, the largest green area in the city, the beautiful neo-Romantic Serbian Orthodox Bishop’s Palace, and visit the Serbian Orthodox Cathedral of St. George from the 18th century with its invaluable iconostasis painted by famous Serbian painter Paja Jovanovic. Walk through the main street further on, enjoying the 18th and 19th-century architecture as well as endless rows of cafes and restaurants, and then reach Liberty Square – a central point in the city. Here, you will find the town hall, Roman Catholic Cathedral, Finance Palace, and the neo-classical edifice of the oldest city hotel, Vojvodina. You will then pass by the Serbian National Theater and reach the city synagogue, the beautiful Hungarian Secession-style building, one of the largest European synagogues still standing. Then, take a break for a traditional Serbian lunch (at your own expense), go shopping and enjoy Novi Sad, and, at the arranged time, get back into the vehicle and head back to Belgrade.

Day 4Free day or OPTIONAL Full-Day Tour to Golubac Fortress & Iron Gate Danube Gorge

After breakfast, free day to explore Belgrade on your own or OPTIONAL journey along the majestic Danube River as you travel from Belgrade to the stunning Golubac Fortress. Perched on towering cliffs at the river’s widest point, this medieval stronghold captivates visitors with its mystical towers and fairytale-like charm. Climb to one of the fortress’s viewpoints, and you’ll see why locals say the Danube resembles the sea from here. Experience breathtaking panoramic views from one of Serbia’s best-preserved fortifications.
Next, immerse yourself in the serene beauty of Kapetan Mišin Breg, an eco-ethno complex offering spectacular views of the Đerdap Gorge. Named after a revered captain, the site features an open-air gallery, “Man, Wood, Water”, showcasing an impressive collection of wooden and stone sculptures.
After a relaxing lunch, set sail through the Iron Gate Gorge, the narrowest and deepest section of the Danube. Marvel at the striking rock carving of Dacian King Decebal and catch a glimpse of the Mraconia Monastery on the Romanian side. Conclude your cruise with a visit to Tabula Traiana, a Roman plaque commemorating Emperor Trajan’s ambitious engineering feat, constructing a road through the gorge’s most challenging terrain.
After an unforgettable day exploring history, nature, and culture, return to Belgrade with memories of the Danube’s timeless beauty.
