Αrrival to Budapest. Budapest is the capital and largest city of Hungary, a vibrant metropolis located where the Danube River flows through a landscape of hills and plains. It’s known for its rich history, stunning architecture, and thermal baths, and is often referred to as the “Pearl of the Danube”. The city is divided into two main parts: Buda, on the west bank, with its hilly and historic Castle District, and Pest, on the east bank, a bustling center with a wide range of activities. Transfer to hotel and free time for leisure and relax.
After breakfast, we will start our city tour where you will learn about 1,000 years of Hungarian history as you see the city’s most important sites. This 3-hour guided city tour begins at our Sightseeing office. On the drive to the Buda side of the Danube, you will see all major attractions along the river Danube.
Your first stop is in the Castle District for a short walk to see the area’s main attractions. You’ll visit the Old Town, the perfect spot for enjoying spectacular views of the surrounding area.
Crossing Elizabeth Bridge to the Pest side we pass by the famous Central Market Hall and Europe’s largest synagogue, followed by a drive to the City Park.
Along the way, pass the largest thermal spa in Europe and the Budapest Zoo, then stop at Heroes’ Square, where you’ll find statues of famed Hungarian kings. The tour continues from here down Andrássy Avenue to downtown Pest, passing the Opera House and St. Stephen’s Basilica. Afternoon free to leisure.
After breakfast, free day to explore Budapest on your own or OPTIONAL Széchenyi Spa Full Day. Immerse yourself in a day of relaxation and cultural exploration with the Széchenyi Thermal Spa & Gastro Cellar combo ticket.
Széchenyi Bath, the largest thermal spring bath complex in Budapest and throughout Europe, is the height of European elegance.
Built in 1913 in a captivating Neo-baroque style, the spa has a rich history, evolving from private steam baths to a vast complex featuring 3 outdoor and 15 indoor pools.
But the experience doesn’t end at the spa; it extends into the heart of Hungarian culture with tasting options inside the Hungarian Gastro Cellar. After your rejuvenating day at the spa, venture into the city center to savor the flavors of the “Hungarian spirit”.
In the evening, we suggest an OPTIONAL Danube cruise.
